We think that the recent rebound in the yields of many developed and emerging market government bonds will generally continue in the rest of this year, if the coronavirus epidemic is contained. By contrast, we expect EM currencies, which have not recovered much, to remain under pressure, given our view of China’s economy, which was downbeat long before the virus struck.
