The slowdown in global growth and recent falls in commodity prices will feed through to lower headline and core inflation in the coming months. Indeed, headline inflation is already at or near its peak in most major economies, while core inflation should also peak before year-end. With few signs of price pressures from labour markets or credit growth, inflation in advanced economies should drop back to very low levels by late 2012.
