Still fiddling while Rome starts to burn

Having pledged to agree on a new rescue package for Greece last week, euro-zone policymakers managed only another vague statement pledging their commitment to “safeguard financial stability” in the region. This would be bad enough if Greece were the only issue. But the policymakers’ continued dithering appears to be pulling both Spain and Italy further into the crisis. Either they stop fiddling and take decisive action or they may soon have to start contemplating the unthinkable.
