Last week’s news on the euro-zone continued the slightly more positive tone of late. Germany and France reiterated their commitment to a new fiscal compact, Spanish and Italian bond auctions were successful, and the euro fell to an 18 month low. But while these developments were welcome, it would be premature to conclude that an end to the crisis is in sight.
