Is Turkey’s commercial property market heading for another downturn?

Q2 GDP data from Turkey look pretty encouraging. Yet we think that the economy is on track for a hard landing next year. This alone does not alter our views on the prospects for commercial property rental growth. But together with other factors such as the recent, sharp depreciation of the lira, it suggests that this year’s faster than expected growth in retail rents will be partly unwound next year.
