Have the risks of a fall in Prague retail rents receded?

After a difficult year, yesterday’s report of an uptick in Czech consumer spending is welcome news for retailers. But the outlook for spending is subdued, while the supply of new retail space is poised to rise this year. Thus, although the risks to our forecast of a modest dip in retail rents this year may now lie to the upside, it is too soon to conclude that the forecast has been overtaken by events.
