While recent news on the Hungarian economy has been surprisingly positive, we are not yet convinced that a sustainable economic recovery is underway. Among other things, Hungary’s fragile banking sector and the need for further fiscal tightening are weighing on the outlook. Accordingly, we still think that Hungarian property will deliver the lowest total returns in Emerging Europe this year.
