The possibility of a new deal between OPEC and some major non-OPEC oil producers to limit supply in September has seen the oil price surge by about 20% this month. However, prices have already started to fall back as some OPEC members warn it will be difficult to reach an agreement. Elsewhere, US natural gas prices continue to be driven by the weather, whilst coal prices are still being supported by reductions in Chinese output.
