The breakdown of Polish Q4 GDP data confirmed that the recovery at the end of last year was driven by improving household consumption. Looking ahead, we expect growth to strengthen over the coming quarters. Some have raised concerns that spillovers from the crisis in Ukraine could weigh on the Polish economy, but the trade and financial ties are actually quite small. Instead, the outlook for Poland will hinge much more on developments in the German economy.
