Polish Q4 GDP data confirmed that the economy survived the slump in euro-zone demand at the end of last year relatively unscathed – unlike the rest of Central Europe. Nonetheless, with less scope for policy response now than in 2008/09, we remain concerned that another lurch down in the euro-zone could cause Polish growth to slow by more than most seem to expect.
