A preliminary estimate of 2009 GDP released this morning suggests that despite the turmoil in the global economy, Poland managed to grow by 1.7% last year. But while the Polish economy should continue to outperform its peers in the region, the next couple of years will resemble a slow grind rather than a rapid take off.
