Hungarian MPC looks set to delay tightening further

The deterioration in the external environment and willingness of the Hungarian MPC to look through above-target inflation means that monetary conditions are unlikely to change over the next twelve months. That said, we think that the central bank will resume its tightening cycle later next year, with the 3m BUBOR interbank rate rising from around 0.25% currently to 0.75% by end-2020.
