How dependent is Russia on high energy prices?

While the energy sector made an important contribution to real GDP growth in the early part of this decade, in recent years its direct contribution has fallen, despite rapid price increases. This is because real GDP growth reflects changes in production volumes only, and whereas volumes grew strongly early in the decade, recently they have been pretty flat.
