Trade war disruption, peace hopes grow in Mindanao

US trade data released earlier this week for October reveal the extent to which the US-China trade war is disrupting regional supply chains. Meanwhile, hopes are rising that martial law in Mindanao, the second largest island in the Philippines, will be brought to an end soon. While improved security could lead to big economic gains for Mindanao itself, it will not have much impact on overall growth in the country.
