The Bank of Thailand’s (BoT) decision to leave interest rates unchanged at an all-time low of just 0.5% came as no surprise. Given the poor outlook for the economy, rates are likely to remain very low for a long time to come. The recent strength of the baht is a renewed concern for the BoT, with the central bank set to announce further measures on Friday to curb the rise of the currency.
