Taiwan’s growth likely to disappoint consensus

Today’s GDP data from Taiwan show that the economy returned to y/y growth in Q3. However, we think growth is unlikely to pick up strongly in the coming quarters. Given our view that the global economy will slow next year, consensus forecasts for Taiwan’s prospects in 2013 look optimistic to us.
