Preliminary Q2 GDP data from Singapore, released today, were stunningly strong yet again. Economic growth will ease during the rest of 2010 but domestic demand should limit the downside. The Singapore dollar will probably climb further against the US dollar, although most of any appreciation is likely to come through in Q4. Capital inflows into Asia are typically more subdued during Q3.
