Pakistan was already struggling to keep the IMF on-side and the floods have changed the near term economic outlook so much that it makes sense to re-write the current adjustment programme. GDP growth in coming quarters is now set to be far lower than was likely a few weeks ago while inflation will stay high for longer. The recent improvement in the current account position should reverse but will probably be more than offset by higher capital inflows.
