Malaysia aims to improve investment conditions

Malaysia’s New Economic Model (NEM), published today, is a positive step toward promoting longterm economic reform. Boosting foreign investment, lifting education standards and reducing the role of government is the right way to increase trend GDP growth. For now, the plan still lacks detail (we will learn more in Q3). But we think that the implementation of reforms will surprise on the upside and lift KL equities.
