Commodity prices to drop back on QE3 disappointment

Not for the first time, commodity prices have been propped up by hopes of additional monetary stimulus from the Fed. However, we doubt these hopes will be realised anytime soon. What’s more, even if Bernanke does signal another round of quantitative easing (QE3) this Friday, we suspect that the boost to commodity prices would be smaller and shorter-lived than in the past.
