The price of aluminium has already fallen by around 7% this month, from the cyclical high of nearly $2,800 to around $2,600 per tonne, as part of the global commodity rout. We expect further substantial falls, perhaps taking prices back below $2,000 over the next year or so. This move will be driven by several factors including a falling oil price, burgeoning supply and deteriorating demand.
