The current elevated levels of grains prices probably already reflect the worst possible outcome for US harvests. In the absence of any further adverse weather shocks, we believe that the prices of corn, wheat and soybeans will drop back by an average of 15% over the remainder of this year. Persistent weakness in the global macroeconomic and financial backdrop will maintain the downward pressure in 2013 too.
