Domestic demand growth is losing momentum. To make matters worse, disruptions to auto and energy exporters have further dampened overall economic growth in the second quarter. Although we anticipate that net exports will provide a lift to economic growth in the third quarter, this boost will be brief. Looking further ahead, a shaky housing market and a slowdown in the US economy late this year and next will ultimately undermine Canada's economic performance.
