As the effects of the severe winter weather subside in the second quarter, the resulting bounce back in GDP growth could be misinterpreted as a sign of improving fundamentals rather than a short-lived burst of pent up demand. While we agree that there is clearly some lost ground to be made up for, we fear that rebound will mask a deterioration in the underlying fundamentals.
