The most important data releases next week are the Bank of Canada’s Business Outlook Survey and consumer prices. Following its decision to start raising interest rates this year, the Bank will be looking for further positive confirmation from businesses on investment and hiring intentions, especially if it is considering raising interest rates later this month. Markets aren’t expecting another rate hike so soon, but we think they are underestimating the likelihood of another hike. Other data releases include manufacturing sales and retail sales.
