Although headline employment rose by a moderate 10,000 in September, the 112,000 rebound in full-time employment is a positive sign for income and consumption growth. In addition, the Bank of Canada will take comfort from the fact that the unemployment rate remained at 6.2%, the lowest since October 2008.
