Don’t rule out an interest rate hike next week

The incoming economic data have been generally strong and will encourage the Bank of Canada to raise interest rates further to 1.00%, from 0.75%, before the end of this year. We wouldn’t rule out a rate hike next week, sooner than the October meeting expected by markets.
