LNG: Will the huge investment pay off?

Australia is set to overtake Qatar as the world’s largest LNG supplier by 2018. However, recent trends in energy markets pose some headwinds for LNG exporters. In particular, the slump in oil prices has significantly reduced the price of Australia’s oil-indexed LNG. Although export volumes and values will rise, the benefits to Australia's economy may be limited.
