Gradual thaw for the housing market

The housing market ground to a halt in response to the coronavirus lockdown, but looking ahead, restrictions on housing activity have been eased. Still, the huge hit to the economy from the virus combined with weakened buyer confidence suggests that the coming recovery in transactions will be gradual. Meanwhile, we still expect house prices to see a modest fall over the remainder of the year, before recovering in 2021.
