ISM Manufacturing Index (Jul.)

The further decline in the ISM manufacturing index to a three-year low of 51.2 in July, from 51.7, confirms that the downturn in the factory sector continued into the third quarter, and suggests that Fed officials are right to be concerned about the impact of slowing global growth on the US economy.
