House prices rose by a robust 1.3% over January according to the Land Registry, which brought a halt to the downward trend in the 3m/3m and annual rate of inflation. While it is too early to say for sure, that could reflect the reform to stamp duty. In any event, a strong economic backdrop and record low mortgage rates are both supporting house price growth.
