Commercial construction sector activity expanded for the first time in over two years in March. On the face of it, that suggests that developer confidence in the wider economic and rental value outlook is improving. But with development finance still limited, the recovery fragile and March’s jump perhaps reflecting some catch-up following the poor weather at the start of the year, any conclusions must be tentative.
