Respondents to the latest Bank of England Credit Conditions survey reported a sharp rise in the availability of mortgage finance in Q3 and expect this to continue over the next three months. By contrast, commercial property credit remains restricted. Regardless, in both sectors, demand is subdued and it is hard to see a material rise in lending flows over the rest of the year.
