Recent business surveys which suggest that the economy may be starting to cool may be misleading given that these same surveys have recently overstated the economy’s strength. Indeed, steady growth in employee jobs and hours, as well as the positive impact of lower oil prices on household incomes, all suggest that the recovery should sustain its momentum.
