Limited upside for platinum prices in 2017

Platinum has substantially underperformed its sister metals – palladium and rhodium – this year as its higher correlation with gold has seen its price fall sharply since the US presidential election. Looking forward, we only see limited upside for prices in 2017 as the market is likely to be broadly balanced for the first time in five years.
