Argentina’s statistics office has finally released a new GDP series based on a revised methodology and the good news is that it seems to paint a more accurate picture of economic activity on the ground than the old series. The bad news is it shows that the economy was in recession in Q1. And our timelier Argentine Activity Indicator suggests the pace of economic contraction deepened in Q2.
