Limits to ‘two-speed’ growth come into focus

The recent data support our belief that Latin America is heading for a period of below-trend economic performance. Imbalances in the drivers of growth have left many countries increasingly exposed to falling commodity prices and weaker global risk appetite. With this in mind, our view is that the region as a whole is unlikely to grow by more than 2.5% in both 2012 and 2013.
