Argentina: Q2 GDP data not as bad as they appear

The bigger-than-expected drop in Argentine GDP in Q2 was alarming, but it was due largely to a slump in exports, which should be temporary. The pace of contraction in domestic demand eased and the early signs from our timelier Activity Indicator are that output contracted at a slower pace in q/q terms in Q3.
