China concerns send Lat Am markets tumbling

The turmoil of the past few weeks has pushed many financial markets in LatinAmerica below our end-year targets. If we’re right in thinking that China’seconomy should avoid the hard landing that many now fear and that global commodity prices will stabilise over the coming months, then there are reasons to think that the big falls in Latin America’s markets are now behind us. Even so,we’re nudging down our forecasts for currencies and equities.
