The further fall in Mexican inflation, to 3.2% in December, was largely driven by a drop in food inflation. With headline inflation likely to stay within Banxico’s 2-4% target range in the coming months, we continue to expect one final 25bp rate cut (to 4.00%) at the central bank’s next meeting in February.
