Japan’s recovery appears to be fading. According to figures released today, core machinery orders plunged in May while the Economy Watchers’ Survey shows that sentiment continued to decline in June. Signs of underlying weakness in the economy are increasing at the same time that external conditions are deteriorating, leaving growth even more reliant on government support.
