Japan’s stuttering economy to avoid technical recession

The Japanese economy contracted in Q4 but is already showing signs of recovery. Reconstruction spending should initiate a return to growth in 2012, but it will be from a low starting point and in replacing lost assets the economy will be no better off than it was before last year’s disaster.
