Inflation has fallen sharply this year and is likely to remain low. Admittedly, the rise in the price of oil and some agricultural commodities since June will push the headline inflation rate back up a bit in the near term. But we expect it to drop once more in 2013 as the global slowdown and recession in the euro-zone persist, and as commodity prices fall once more.
