Renewed coronavirus outbreaks in some parts of the world have not caused us to rip up our economic forecasts. The initial stages of the recovery have been faster than we feared and we had always assumed that a limited recurrence of the virus would cause some containment measures to be reinstated. But the news supports our cautious stance and adds to downside risks for the advanced economies in particular.
