Preliminary business surveys published today suggest that the pace of global growth in Q1 was little changed from the end of last year. But this is partly due to weather-related disruption in the US and a sharp slowdown in China, while activity in the euro-zone held up quite well. Global growth is still likely to recover later this year as the boost from lower oil prices feeds through into higher spending.
