Can the US shrug off a euro-zone recession?

We expect the euro-zone to experience a deep recession next year but the US to grow steadily, reflecting the region-specific nature of the crisis in Europe, improving fundamentals in the US and the fact that some form of break-up of the euro-zone would not come as a complete surprise.
