News that distribution of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine is being paused is another blow to Europe’s vaccination programme and reinforces our view that the euro-zone economy is unlikely to begin a sustained recovery until Q3. Next week, all eyes will be on the ECB and Christine Lagarde’s attempts to explain why the Bank failed to deliver on its promise to “significantly” step up its asset purchases over the past few weeks.
