Yesterday’s retail sales data showed that domestic demand is weakening across most of Europe. And there is little reason to expect the pace of household spending to improve in 2012. Against that backdrop, the recent expansion in 2012’s European retail supply pipeline is a concern, especially in Turkey and Romania in Emerging Europe, and Italy and Spain in Western Europe.
