Coronavirus to keep prices low in Q1

Energy prices slumped in January owing to concerns about the hit to demand from the coronavirus outbreak. The evolution of the epidemic over the coming weeks will determine how lasting its impact will be on energy prices. For now, we are assuming that energy consumption and prices will rebound once the virus is brought under control. However, if disruptions continue for several more weeks, demand and prices may not recover fully this year.
