October’s headline manufacturing PMIs released so far for EMs were generally encouraging across the board, but they do not fully reflect the very latest surge in global COVID-19 cases and restrictions imposed across much of Europe. We think that these factors will cause a renewed industrial downturn in Central and Eastern Europe, but manufacturers in Emerging Asia will hold up better.
